Which can you buy now?
Only 1X NEO. US orders are open with a refundable $200 deposit, and 1X says US deliveries are due in 2026. You can't order Tesla Optimus or Figure 03 yet, and neither has a waiting list.
Which is likely to reach UK homes first?
On current plans, NEO. 1X has said markets outside the US follow in 2027. Tesla is targeting consumer sales for the end of 2027 but hasn't mentioned the UK, and Figure hasn't announced a consumer launch anywhere. That's our reading of what each company has said, and dates in this market tend to slip.
Buy, subscribe or lease?
NEO is the only one with real prices: $20,000 to buy, or $499 a month on subscription. Tesla's target for Optimus is $20,000 to $30,000. Figure's CEO has talked about leasing Figure 03 to homes for $400 to $600 a month. At $1.32 to £1 that's roughly £15,000 or £380 a month for NEO, £15,000 to £23,000 for Optimus and £300 to £450 a month for Figure 03. UK prices will include VAT and import costs, so expect them to be higher than a straight conversion.
Size and safety at home
NEO is the lightest by a distance, at about 30 kg against roughly 60 kg for the other two. That matters on stairs and around children and pets. Figure 03 was designed for homes, with a soft, washable textile cover and foam at pinch points. Tesla hasn't shown the next version of Optimus yet, so there's little to judge it on.
Privacy
So far only 1X has published detailed privacy controls: approval before a remote operator connects, blurred faces, no-go zones and an opt-out from AI training. These are 1X's claims and haven't been independently checked. Tesla and Figure haven't said how they'll handle cameras and data in homes. Our home robot privacy guide covers what to decide whichever you choose.
What each needs from your home
All three need strong WiFi in the rooms they'll work in, a clear charging spot near a socket, clear stairs and floors, and camera-free zones decided in advance. Figure 03's wireless charging pad also needs a flat spot of floor. Our robot-ready guide and printable checklist cover the lot.
What Robot Fitter is planning. A £49 home readiness survey to check your WiFi, dock spot, stairs and camera-free zones before your robot arrives. Setup and safety configuration on the day it arrives (£99–£199, depending on the robot and the size of your home). And a Robot Care Plan from £25 a month after that. We're not taking bookings yet.
